A drunken man who had attended a wedding party Saturday night at Mayo Civic Center punched and damaged the goose statue that stands outside the Rochester Public Library.

A drunken man early Sunday morning vandalized the goose statue that stands outside the Rochester Public Library.
The man, 28, from Salt Lake City, Utah, was walking by the library at about 12:15 a.m. Sunday when he punched the statue in the head, said Rochester Police Lt. Scott Tulius. A police officer happened to be driving by at that moment.
The man was arrested and brought to the detox center, and then transferred to jail. He had a blood/alcohol concentration of .24, Tulius said.
The man is facing charges of felony criminal damage to property; disorderly conduct; and misdemeanor damage to property.
