Sauk Centre woman fights for life after swerving for deer

Filed under: Traffic accident — Breaking News @ 7:28 pm

A Sauk Centre woman is in critical condition and her unborn child is dead after she swerved to avoid a deer on Interstate 94 near Albany. A spokeswoman for St. Cloud Hospital says 27-year-old Jennifer Huston was in critical condition this afternoon. Initial reports had called her injuries much less severe.

The State Patrol says she was driving on the interstate Wednesday evening when she swerved to avoid the animal. Her Mitsubishi Lancer rolled and the woman, who was eight months pregnant, was hurt. She was taken to the hospital, but doctors were unable to save her unborn child.
