TOWN OF JOHNSONVILLE, Minn. — Thunderstorms in western Minnesota produced numerous funnel clouds and possibly a couple of tornado touchdowns but there were no immediate reports of injuries.

National Weather Service Meteorologist Chris Franks says they started getting funnel clouds reports in the early afternoon Saturday. Possible brief touchdowns were reported around 3 p.m. near the Chippewa and Swift County line and in Redwood County.

He says there were reports of pea to nickel size hail as well.

Chippewa County law enforcement says a possible tornado damaged a barn and granaries near Milan.

The Redwood County Sheriff’s Office reports damage to a farm in Johnsonville Township as well as damage to sheds, pole barns and power lines.

Franks says the storms were weakening as they move southeast.
