Rollover crashes on I-90, U.S. 52, U.S. 14

A one-vehicle rollover on I-90, about a mile east of the Dover exit, and crashes on U.S. 52 just south of Rochester and U.S. 14 near Byron have complicated travel this morning.

There have been numerous reports of crashes today, as many roads remain slick from Monday’s snow.

A car has rolled over on U.S. 52 near 90th Avenue Southeast.

No report on injuries.

There have been numerous spinouts and rollovers on area highways this afternoon, especially west of Olmsted County.

Dozens of vehicles slide into ditches in Rochester area

State and local police reported that numerous vehicles slid into ditches in the Rochester area tonight. Many of the mishaps began after 9:00. Weather conditions include freezing rain.

At 9:20, a state trooper reported that 11 vehicles were in ditches along U.S. 14 in Olmsted County between the westerly stoplight in Byron and the Dodge County line. An ambulance was dispatched.

At 9:30, dispatchers received reports of several vehicles in ditches near the U.S. 63 and Interstate 90 intersection, south of Rochester.

At 9:40, police reported that a jeep rolled over in a ditch in the area of East Circle Drive and Viola Road in Rochester. An ambulance was dispatched.

Ashby teen dies in snowmobile crash

ASHBY, Minn. — An Ashby High School sophomore has died in a snowmobile accident. The Grant County sheriff’s office says 16-year-old Justin Woldahl of Ashby was riding his sled Tuesday afternoon down the Central Lakes Trail in Ashby, when he struck a truck that was parked partially across the trail. The driver was reportedly unloading fertilizer at a fertilizer plant.

KSAX-TV reports that the Ashby girls’ basketball game in Parkers Prairie on Tuesday night was canceled due to the accident.

Crash snarls traffic on U.S. 14 west of Rochester

A crash in the eastbound lanes of U.S. 14 near the intersection with Olmsted County 104, resulted in minor injuries and snarled traffic.

The crash was reported about 8:40 a.m.

A driver was reportedly trapped in her vehicle after it rolled south of Elgin on Olmsted County 24.

Drivers are advised to take caution during the morning commute, as many roadways remain slick.

2 injured in rollover on U.S. 63 near Racine

A vehicle rolled on U.S. 53 about 2 miles south of Stewartville at about 7:30 a.m. today. Two people suffered serious, but not life-threatening, injuries, and were taken to Saint Marys Hospital. They were John Jessel, 32, of Stewartville, and Amber Jessel, 14, of Stewartville.

Child-care van rolls on U.S. 63

01-08-03-van-rollover-mjNo one was seriously injured when a child care center’s van, carrying five preschool children, slid into a ditch and rolled.

The accident occurred around 12:15 p.m. today at the 40th Street exit on southbound U.S. 63 South.
