About 600 in towns, rural areas still without power

Filed under: Business, Environment, General, Power outages, Severe weather, Weather — Tags: , , , , — Breaking News @ 1:43 pm

People’s Cooperative Service workers have been scrambling all morning to restore power to more than 1,500 customers that lost power due to this morning’s storm.

As of 1 p.m., that number is down to about 600 customers still without power.

Here’s some from a note People’s sent out this afternoon:

170 members in the Rock Dell area should have their power restored by 2:00 pm as crews complete repairs on a three phase line that experience downed poles and trees through the power lines.

It is now anticipated most members should have power restored by early evening today. People’s encourages members that are still experiencing a loss of power to call the cooperative so isolated single outages are recorded. Members are urged to stay clear of any downed or low hanging power lines and report them immediately.

People’s Cooperative Services, founded in 1936, is a member owned electric power utility serving 17,000 members in Olmsted, Dodge, Fillmore, Mower, Wabasdha and Winona Counties.
