• Mayo Clinic's CEO takes patient focus seriously

  It goes on your record as an absence...if you don’t call in sick frequently, it is no big deal. Also, Mayo will put you up in a local motel if you are unable to go home. Not many companies will do that.

• Lefse tops menu at Christmas bazaar

  I visit the Zumbro Lutheran Bazaar (and buy my lefse) every year. This is a great event and a great benefit to the community. Thanks!

• Job candidates disappointed but still hold Mayo Clinic in high regard

  I agree with Sid. It is unfortunate and I do feel for the candidates whose job offers were rescinded. But my job was downsized after a number of years with a company (not Mayo) and we had 3 kids, a mortgage, etc. Better to have it happen prior to getting in and settled. Just look at the PB and all the jobs cuts being made all over. I think Mayo is trying to take care of its current employees.
