It goes on your record as an absence...if you don’t call in sick frequently, it is no big deal. Also, Mayo will put you up in a local motel if you are unable to go home. Not many companies will do that.

07/24/2009 10:10 AMI agree with Sid. It is unfortunate and I do feel for the candidates whose job offers were rescinded. But my job was downsized after a number of years with a company (not Mayo) and we had 3 kids, a mortgage, etc. Better to have it happen prior to getting in and settled. Just look at the PB and all the jobs cuts being made all over. I think Mayo is trying to take care of its current employees.
