  It doesn’t make it easier...it’s just another way for the DNR to take more of our money. They must need to upgrade their 2009 4-door pickups to the 2010 model.

  Haag1: I understand that this is the rule in place for CONSTRUCTED stands on public land, but that seems a tad different. For instance, if someone who built the constructed stand moves away or will no longer hunt there, they just can’t undo the chain and take it down.
  But I think to say a portable stand is “free game” as long as nobody is in it is ridiculous. Like I said in my earlier post, if this law passes, it’s giving me permission to jump in someone’s portable stand AND STAY THERE as long as I got to the stand before he did. Not right.

  What?? So (saying this passes) if I hunt from MY portable stand on Friday night and leave it in the tree to hunt the next morning, if someone beat me into the woods, I have to let him sit there?? I don’t think so.
  You can’t go just sit in someone’s Ice shack when it’s left on the ice.

  Just what we need...A way to bring more out-of-staters to hunt on already HORRIBLY over-hunted land.
  Let’s solve our problem with land access before we bring more people in.
