  @aghast: I apologize.  I misinterpreted what your comments were directed at.  Still wondering though if you think there aren’t any taxes generated from the operations of non-profit institutions.

  I’m puzzled by aghast’s continue reference to the “tax free” status of Mayo.  I work at Mayo.  I pay federal and state taxes on my income, as do all the other 57,000 Mayo employees.  While you’re doing your research aghast, investigate what a non-profit organization really is and then get back to us.  Make sure you let us know what non-profit institutions have to do with any income they generate that is above their operating expenses.
