Is it true that they take the individuals who have been out of work for longer than six months out of the unemployment number?
I would say that the unmanipulated unemployment number is probably closer to 19%.
Do these elected representatives hear themselves speak?
” it is indefensible to play games with this bill”
“we know it is critical to get construction workers back to work”.
Just what does $58 million dollars break down to per construction worker?
These representatives sound ridiculous.
It is disappointing to hear our city leaders’ supportive statements regarding the respective virtue of an expansion to the Mayo Civic Center or International Volleyball Center.
When you can’t pay your heating bill, you don’t take a vacation to Cancun.
I know! Let’s really distinguish ourselves by being the first Minnesota city to operate in the black......
02/06/2010 7:30 AMIt seems to me that, unlike Algadi’s interpretation of their better late than never business model, if the Burill company/Tower Investments group truly “understood the urgency and wanted to keep their word” that the initial transfer of 1.1 million would have been made in a timely manner as opposed to being prompted.
How does a reputable and responsible company forget or neglect a commitment such as that?
Later in the article when Burill is asked for proof of the necessary billion dollar fund before the state can move forward, he sounds evasive, at best.
Of course it was unnecessary. There are so many indiscretions amongst the board brethren that it is difficult to understand why this incident garners such attention.
But what a perfect opportunity for a certain someone on the board to try and humiliate Fisher into resigning. If she were to leave, it would create an empty seat on the board to be filled.
