How is protecting children a ‘health care problem’ Prohibition? You’re right, the addict mom is hurting but those poor children of hers are hurting much worse. We need to advocate for the victims - the children living in these kinds of situations and those who the addicts steal from to feed their habits. The police do the best they can - yes there are a few bad apples here and there who give the whole bunch a bad name but most of these officers do an excellent job. And for those offenders who are also addicts and want help - there are plenty of programs that assist with rehabilitation.
11/04/2009 5:55 AMNo kidding, Roch. Why not just donate the money outright? And why is he looking to recoup his investment if he’s doing this for charity?

06/04/2009 8:28 AMEating pork has NOTHING to do with H1N1. It is transmitted the same way other influenza is transmitted - with contact with sick PEOPLE. I am also a member of PETA - people eating tasty animals!! NOT the same PETA that encourages everyone to start labeling fish as “sea kittens”. Seriously, that’s just ridiculous. Sea kittens are delicious and so are pork chops. And ribs. And roast. Now I’m hungry!
04/30/2009 11:55 AMShadow - I used to manage Sec. 42 and the guidelines have gone up a bit since then (I think a four person fam is now around 41k). What I don’t understand is how a 4 person family making less than 41K a year can afford nearly $1000 in rent. Did I mention that they typically want to see decent credit on the application (600 or above) or else they’ll require a co-signer?
